The Fine Arts Museum of Surgut

The Fine Arts Museum of Surgut was founded in 1994. The mission of the Museum is to awaken artistic, aesthetic, and spiritual needs of people, to help them meet these needs and come to know the world of visual culture.
The activities of the Museum are certainly not limited to collecting, studying and preserving works of art. We pay close attention to how we display museum pieces and strive for higher quality of our expositions. We are also implementing a program to restore unique collections of medieval bronze artworks, which at different times left the territory of our Okrug after excavations, and to preserve dilapidated historic and cultural monuments.
The Museum does not host any permanent exhibition. We consider it more useful to exhibit our collections as part of art and culture studies projects.
The Museum is committed to the wide involvement of its creative and scientific partners and the local community in its activities, to openness and active participation in the life of the present-day society.
