Bundle: a book «Shadow of Mine on the Walls of Yours…(Anna Akhmatova. The Fate of the Generation)» with electronic companion on CD-ROM

Year of production: 1999

Languages: russian

Description:

The computer movie based on archival documents features the role of the Fountain House in Anna Akhmatova’s life and activities. The former palace of the Count Sheremetev family happened to become not only her dwelling place for many years but a motive of her creations and background in her main work – “Poem without a Hero”. The movie also shows the life of Akhmatova’s contemporaries - people of her circle: poets, artists, scholars who were connected with the Fountain House. Nikolai Gumilev, Olga Glebova-Sudeikina, Nikolai Punin, Lev Gumilev and others are among them. The distinctive feature of the movie is that it was created by means of computer animation, with no video shooting used. It is based on the photo documents presented by the Museum of Anna Akhmatova in the Fountain House and on audio records of Akhmatova reading her poems. The artistic implementation incorporates music by Dmitry Shostakovich and fragments of paintings by the “World of Art” group and Soviet avant-garde artists, including Aleksandr Benois, Mstislav Dobuzhinsky, Kazimir Malevich and Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin. The book “Anna Akhmatova and the Fountain House” jointly prepared by the studio and museum was published by the “Nevsky Dialect” publishing house in February 2000. It is supposed to be distributed both with the CD-ROM and without it.
