Devoted to 110th Birth Anniversary of N. Kondratieff
The International Kondratieff Foundation, the Pitirim Sorokin –
Nikolai Kondratieff International Institute, Institute of Economics of RAS and the
Administration of Ivanovo and Vladimir regions are organizing an International scientific
symposium devoted to 110th birth anniversary of N.D. Kondratieff to be held on March
15-18, 2002. The subject of the symposium - “Scientific Heritage of N.D. Kondratieff in
the Context of Development of the Russian and the World Socio-Economic Thought”.
Persons interested in participating and presenting a paper are
welcomed to fill in the application forms (attached herewith) and return them by November
15, 2001 and the abstract of the presentation (maximum 3 pages) in the E-mail version to

Welcome to the SPHERE conference on Creative Industries in the Digital Environment.
Over the past decade the field of creative industries, including digital media and content
production, has grown into an increasingly important sector of the economy. This growth
has fuelled the debate on the value and importance of the creative industries.
Digital content is transforming the information and business landscape over a wide range
of industries. The content market is dynamic and growing rapidly with implications seen in
both content production and media markets.
The conference intends to explore reasons for and examples of the growth of creative
industries. The first day of the conference looks at the potential for creative industries
in the new economy. Practices already introduced in innovative milieus will be presented.
The second day of the conference will concentrate more on future media markets, content
production and business creation in the digital media environment.

As before, the basic focus at the Conference will be given to the
state of the art and perspectives of new information, computer and Internet technologies
in libraries daily routines; development of cooperation between libraries and research,
cultural, educational and publishing institutions as well as with book traders and book
distributors.
Special attention at the 2001 Conference will be given to the
problems of information and library resources system and network integration and the role
of the Internet in library and information services transformation. Topics of electronic
libraries, corporate systems and copyright will be considered at the Conference as well.
The special workshop "Library and Business in the Information
Society: Economic, Legal, Social, and Information Aspects" will be organized at the
2001 Conference for the first time.
The Conference Program is built on the basis of participants’
requests analysis and special invitations for presentations issued by the Program
Committee to selected experts in the Conference topics.
The Exhibition scope includes: applications of new computer
technologies in information and library business, Internet technologies, digital
information, CD-ROMs, new services by publishing houses, printed editions production and
distribution, periodicals distribution, library equipment and materials.

The Second International Forum "Internet Economy of
Russia",
