Helena Vladimirovna Kim, art historian. Researcher of the Picture gallery of the State museum-preserve Содержание : This paper is devoted to using of the new information technologies in traditional museum work of study and popularisation of artists creativity. The information-advertising department and the picture gallery were created in the Rostov museum almost simultaneously, in 1995. Therefore work of the picture gallery was conducted on the computer basis from the beginning. Documents from archives, publications from various editions were in the computer, as well as a number of museum items descriptions; a database on collections of painting and diagrams XVIII-XX of centuries was created. From the beginning the advantages of new information technologies were used only for gathering and processing of materials. After some time electronic directories "Modern Rostov artists", "Children's art creativity of Rostov", "The history of picture gallery of the Rostov museum" were prepared. In 2000 Petrovichev Web-page creation were started for the Rostov museum site (www.rostov.yar.ru).
An outstanding Russian artist Pyotr Petrovichev (1874-1947) was born in Rostov region, in 1891-1892 worked at the Rostov Museum of Church Antiquities. While living in the Moscow, the artist came to Rostov a lot of times during all his life; architectural landscapes, the interiors of churches created here make a significant part of his heritage.
The Rostov museum aspires to gather of a full collection of the artist’s pictures, documentary materials about him. Collecting and researching Petrovichev’s works were started in the Museum 80 years ago. A Petrovichev's landscape were among the first receipts of the picture gallery of the Rostov Museum of the Antiquities, opened September, 4, 1921. In 1920-30th some more pictures of the artist were collected. Interest to Petrovichev's creativity in the Rostov museum grew in the 1980-s when the artist’s family brought here 12 pictures and etudes. In 1999, the year of 125-anniversary of the artist, О.P. and N.P. Petrovichevy presented to the Museum some important documents connected to life and creativity of their father and a number of his drawings.
The result of this work was described in the paper «Petrovichev Web-page as a way of study and popularization of the artist’s creativity» at EVA2000 Moscow. This work lead to the purchase of two Petrovichev's pictures by the Ministry of Culture RF for our Museum in December, 2000 («Tea Drinking in a Village» (1898) and «March. The spring road» (1903), now exhibited in the Petrovichev's hall). This is mark of high estimation of the Rostov Museum activity. Thus, the Rostov museum now has one of the largest (20 pictures) Petrovichev’s collections. High art level of the works, time of their creation and a genre range show sufficient completeness and imposing appearance of the collection deserving studying and development.
The following researches of the artist’s creativity, the experience of other museums, theoretical articles («Museum» magazine (№№ 204, 205), «The museum of future: information management», М, 2001) and papers at conferences EVA2000 Moscow, ADIT 2001 influenced the Web-page change.
For the last year the basic parts of Web-page («Exhibition», «Biography», «Petrovichev’s collection in the Rostov museum», «Petrovichev as a teacher») were replenished with new materials. First of all, new pictures of the Rostov museum collection («Tea drinking in a village», painted in 1898 near to Rostov, in village Visocovo, in the house of the artist’s parents, and the landscape "March" which had become “the visit card of the artist”) were included. All researchers of Petrovichev creativity wrote about outstanding art qualities of the picture “March». The author never left this picture, it always was in his workshop.
The section "Biography" is enriched with newly revealed documents in archive of the Rostov museum (for example, the record from January, 21, 1891 in the book "Receipts of visitors of White Chamber" allows to know the date when of Petrovichev started to work in the museum. New data on the museum actions devoted to Petrovichev, for example, presentation of new receipts have appeared. Here are the photos from ancient Rostov Dormition Cathedral where May, 24, 2001, in Day of Slavonic writing and culture, was lithium - doleful of the outstanding Russian artist.
More then that, we started to prepare a part of the Web-page «Bibliography» where it is planned to host a list of all publications about the artist known to us. Books, magazine and newspaper articles from the library of the Rostov museum are scanned, it is possible to see with them in full.
It is necessary start a full electronic catalogue of Petrovichev’s pictures from museums and private collection. Thus photos are not scanned from books, and the sanction from administrations of museums on photographing with the help of digital chamber NiconCoolPix 930 turns out. A special attention is given to revealing earlier not published pictures. In spite of the fact that this work has just started, some museums (for example, the Volgograd museum of the fine arts, Pereslavl historian-architectural and art museum - reserve) have agreed to represent Petrovichev’s pictures from their collections on the Rostov Museum Web-site.
Thus, new materials, new project in the sphere of museum information, the development of technological base permitting to begin the next stage of the work - creation of Petrovichev Virtual museum. The goal of it is not only gathering of the full researches on life and creativity of the artist, but also problems of the studying of his heritage, popularisation of museum collection. A result of it should become creation of the certain environment, assisting to reveal individuality of the artist and to give representation of his creativity.
Thus, if the first stage of work was connected to reflection existing actuality, the following stage of work is directed on creation of a new reality.
